By Philip Robida. Therese and her sister were the two Robida ladies that I had occasion to visit in Compiegne, France while I was stationed there in 1944-45 after recuperating from wounds received in Normandy on June 8, 1944. I had inquired at the town hall (Marie) about the street named Albert Robida 1848 - 1926. The concierge referred me to the sisters who lived at that time in Compiegne. They in turn referred me to their nephew Leo Robida, who lived at 137 Rue de Victor Hugo in Paris, and with whom I eventually had dinner with, had my picture taken with a volume of the Robida 19th Century, and holding one of the rifles presented to one of the earlier brothers of the Robida family, which rifle is now in possession of Albert's grandson, Jean Robida 1921. I subsequently lost contact with Leo, as I was addressing my letters to 125 Rue de Victor Hugo in error on my return to the U.S.
